Healing Dance is an aquatic bodywork technique developed by professional dancer and aquatic bodyworker Alexander George in 1993. The philosophy is that movement is the “medicine”: in receiving, the healing process in the body is activated.
Imagine floating in warm water in safe and nurturing arms; being rocked, waved, stretched, massaged and danced by your practitioner.
You feel free of your body, able to fly with spirit or maybe you just relax. It could be you have never been held like this since you were a baby.
We all bring our stories to the session. Even, sometimes without us being aware, our body brings its own stories, letting go of trapped energy. The practitioner is trained to support any impulse that arises.
Healing Dance is: flow, dance, waves, spirals, stretches, quiet spaces. It creates freedom and space in the joints. You and the water become one. Each session is unique.
It may be unlike anything you have ever experienced. On land you will review the material and learn about body mechanics. In the water, you will be giving and receiving movements, learning where to support, how to be grounded in the stances and how to bring your partner into flow. A simple sequence is learned. You will discover how it can open a new dimension in relating!
An average day has 6 hours of water divided over a session of 4 hours and one of 2 hours (self practice), and 2,5 hours learning on land.
I attempt to create a stress-free learning environment, with plenty of humor and patience!
A written and photo manual are provided.

“Water has always been my favourite element. Swimming, sailing, kayaking, snorkling, freediving… My first water sesssion in 2018 felt like coming home. Wow, I wanted to learn this! I have since practised and trained over a 1000 hours in Watsu®, Wata®, Healing Dance® and Aguahara in Belgium, France, Spain, Mexico and Israel.
In 2023 I became a Certified Practitioner Healing Dance. Summer 2024 I became a Certified Teacher Healing Dance Intro Level. To be able to teach this technique to others: so wonderful!
Every day I am grateful (in all my cells) for the healing power of water. Water has helped me to live even MORE in flow and surrender. At the same time it is a pleasure and an honour to accompany people to a deeper connection with their bodies and themselves. This is heart work.”
